Q Can I purchase a property in my name?
A Yes, since 2002 the law has changed giving British citizens the right to buy property and have the title deeds in their own name.
Q Is my property likely to increase in value if Turkey joins the EU?
A Yes, if and when this takes place we are sure that your property will increase in price.
Q Do we pay a yearly tax?
A Yes, annual tax and all related taxes are included in the yearly maintenance fee for the first 5 years.
Q What are the yearly maintenance charges?
A The annual charges for maintenance for your property vary depending on the size of your property you will pay between 250-400 Sterling Pounds yearly.
Q What do the maintenance charges cover?
A Pool, gardening, exterior painting, all local taxes 24 hour security and reception
Q Does Turkey offer a medical service to foreign residents?
A There is no such service as the NHS however you can pay for private health insurance giving you the right to use the private hospitals. There are English speaking doctors in Altinkum.
Q How does the water and electricity get charged to your apartment?
A Electricity and water bills are sent normally every month to each individual apartment.
Q Is our property taken care of when we return to the U.K.?
A Yes, we have men on sight who regularly check each individual apartment
Q How long will it take to transfer the title deeds into the purchasers name?
A Approx. 3 months
Q What deposit do I require to secure my purchase?
A 10% deposit will secure your purchase
Q Do you provide a lawyer and if so what are the fees?
A Yes we supply a lawyer and translator the fee is £ 170
Q What other charges are incurred when purchasing property?
A The transfer of the title deeds will cost approx. £ 400, the connection for the water and electricity meter will cost £ 100 for each connection
Q If we wish to purchase a second property for investment purposes
is this possible?
A You can purchase as many properties as you wish

RENTING YOUR PROPERTY
Q Can you DEMIR rent our property out for us and, if so, what commission fee do you charge for this service?
A Demir can handle the renting out of your apartment. We provide a professional service for you and charge 25% commission. This charge covers handling the reservation and providing a cleaning and laundry service once a week.
Q What other services can you provide the guests whilst they are on
holiday?
A Oracle is a fully bonded travel agent and can provide a range of services which will give holiday makers the chance to explore the beauty surrounding them. Services include: car hire, daily tours, daily boat trips, money exchange, private tours, jeep safaris. We will provide each apartment with a brochure with all the relevant information.

Q Can we apply for permanent residency once we purchase property?
A No. When you arrive in Turkey your passport will be stamped
with a 3 month visa. After this visa expires; you can then apply for a 5
year visa.
Q Are the flights expensive to and from the U.K. and which airports should I use?
A There are frequent flights departing from the U.K. to Turkey all summer. The prices vary depending on when you choose to travel. Prices can start from as little as £ 89 to £ 289 return. In the winter months you can travel schedule air with the Turkish Airlines and again depending on when you travel the prices vary. Direct flights start from London, it is also possible fly from Manchester via Istanbul. The nearest airport to Altinkum is Bodrum which is approx. 1 hour. The other airport is Izmir, approx. 2 hours from resort.
Q Are the British and Irish people who are resident
in Turkey finding life cheaper than the U.K.?
A Yes, generally speaking, you will find the monthly bills are a lot less if you compare to the U.K. Groceries are also cheaper.
Q Are the winter months cold?
A The climate does drop considerably in November until March. However it is not nearly as cold and miserable as the long winter you have in the U.K.
Q Can we open a bank account in Turkey?
A Yes. All you require to open a bank account is your passport.

A In the local village of 'Didim' you can purchase everything to furnish your home.You will find the prices very reasonable in comparison to the U.K.

A Yes we will provide you with a member of our team who speak excellent English and will be a great help to you. We will assist you whenever you require assistance.
Q How long can you expect to wait for the delivery of our furniture?
A If in stock you will get your goods delivered on the same day, if not in stock you may wait a few days for the delivery. Shopping in Turkey is a delight...

Q Who inherits our property if one of us dies?
A According to Turkish law, the property automatically goes to the next of kin. To make amendments to the title deeds legal assistance is required.
Q Are the local Turkish people happy to have British and Irish citizens
resident in their country?
A Yes. Turkish people love the British and are very accepting of them living in their neighbourhood.. It is very important that the British people accept the Turkish culture and tradition.
Q Are all properties given a final check by a surveyor?
